I started this blog over 10 years ago, as I was heading on an exciting journey to the Yemen, to keep friends informed as I was travelling.
I then kept it up over a long time - more or less regularly until late 2011. Since then it's become rather irregular.
All in all it's mostly stories, observations and reflections I make in the various places I live in or visit, rather than day-to-day blabla.
Enjoy!
I have become a coffee drinker. Believe it or not. But only of the Turkish variety (with yummy-smelling cardamom). Latte, moccha and cappucino however are still not my cup of tea.
My dear Selmo, You make me so ridicuously happy - I will now set aside atleast half of your visit in July to cafes and the sampling of japanese coffee. If you're lucky I'll even make you that very lovely coffee and amaretto you so loved. Welcome to the slippery slope of coffee addiction. All my love, Beckilina
YOU DRINK COFFEE!! HORRAH! I love reading your blog; it reminds me that you're still there. Oh, my girlfriend is Egyptian and very eager to know exactly where you are in Egypt right now.

Mon cher Anselmo!!
That's the ONLY coffee I discovered I like tooo!... except I made this discovery in the very turkish town of Bristol where I am currently based!
Your stories are fascinating... I want to hear more of them!
I'm loving life but itching to explore distant shores! Working on the adaptation of a japanese story at the moment so it's almost as if I'm travelling there! (would v much like to, for the purposes of "research" of course and seeing Mlle Beckita in the not too distant future!). Now working at the Bristol Old Vic for the next month or so... living with the wonderful Dee - who as it happens is in Egypt at this very moment! Did you know? Enfin, c'est trés cool and I send you much love from a springy england xxxxxxxxxx Henriette
